Trout in the Classroom
|
Raising trout from eggs to fingerlings in a classroom environment has been the centerpiece of the Trout in the Classroom (TIC) program for over 20 years. When students in grades K-12 learn about a trout’s life cycle and nurture the fish through their early life stages and release the fingerlings into local streams, they get to see firsthand how trout fit into a larger ecological framework. TU is involved in over 400 TIC programs throughout the country. With support of volunteers and partners, TU is working to help foster a new generation of conservationists through this and other youth education programs. |
