TU's 50th Anniversary Facebook Cause Contest

Trout Unlimited is celebrating 50 years of coldwater conservation success this summer, thanks to the hard work of members, volunteers and anglers across the country. We need your help now more than ever to ensure 50 more years of cold, clean fishable water.

How to win: Winners will be the people who occupy the top five (5) ranking positions in each category at the end of the contest. These winners will be the people who recruit the most people to join the cause; those who have donated the most money; and those who encourage the most Facebook members to donate. Winners will be chosen by the position of rankings in the “hall of fame” section at 12 a.m. EST/ 9 p.m. PST on August 22, 2009.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to top performers in the following categories: Recruits/Donors/Fundraisers as detailed below.

First Place Prizes: Three, one-of-a-kind 50th Anniversary Trout Unlimited Orvis “Trout Bum” rods will be awarded to the first, second and third place performers in the “Fundraiser” category. These 8 ft., 4-piece, 5 wt. mid-flex rods have the TU 50th logo engraved on the butt section and Trout Unlimited/ 50 Years inscribed on the blank. The limited edition rods are hand numbered with gold guides and wraps, and come with a rod tube engraved with the TU 50th logo. The rods retail for $575 each.

Second Place Prizes: Two Simms Dry Creek Hip/Chest Packs will be awarded to the first place position in the “Recruits” and "Donors" categories. A water-resistant, non-submersible pack that features two built-in retractors and a tool keeper. Color: Coal Dimensions: 12" x 8" x 4" Retail value: $99.95

Third Place Prizes: James Prosek illustrates his love for trout with over 100 gorgeous watercolors book Trout of the World. This book will be awarded to the remaining top performers in the three categories; Recruits, Donors and Fundraising. Retail Value: $35.00

All winners will also receive a one-year Trout Unlimited membership or renewal which includes: four issues of TROUT magazine; a 16-month TU calendar (mailed late summer); an official TU membership card, TU decal and sticker, membership in your local chapter and hotel and car discounts.

Winners - Hall of Fame

Winners: Winners will be chosen by their rankings in the “hall of fame” section at 12 a.m. EST / 9 p.m. PST on August 22, 2009. A TU representative will post an image and list of the winners on our 50th Anniversary on this page Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9 a.m. PST. Winners will be notified via a note from the cause page to your profile on Monday. Winners in the donor category are responsible for tax implications of their donation. Your contribution, minus the retail value of any gifts received, is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Eligibility: Void where prohibited by law. TU’s 50th Anniversary Facebook Cause Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Employees and independent contractors of Trout Unlimited or its affiliates, and any other individual or entity involved in the development, promotion, or execution of the Contest are not eligible. Prize Restrictions: Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of Prizes is permitted except at the sole discretion of Trout Unlimited. Any federal, state, or local taxes on Prizes and any expenses related to the acceptance and/or use of the Prizes not specified herein as being awarded are the responsibility of the Winners.
